Nadi - Fiji

Nadi

Nadi is a city on Fiji's main island. The South Pacific country's main transportation hub, it's also home to Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami, a Hindu temple reflecting Fiji's large Indian population. The Garden of the Sleeping Giant has orchids and hiking trails. Denarau Island is an upscale resort area with a golf course and marina, with departures to the Mamanuca and Yasawa islands.

Home to the recently upgraded international airport, the multi-cultural town of Nadi is the gateway to Fiji.

A bustling tourism hub on Viti Levu's west coast, Nadi is a great place for travellers to eat, drink and shop. Main Street offers plenty of options for retail therapy, with the latest Hindi or Fijian music playing from every storefront. Close proximity to Denarau Island and its wide range of quality accommodation also make Nadi an ideal base before you head out to discover the rest of Fiji.

Experiences

Nadi has a huge range of tours and activities – both on and off the water. Jet skis, SUPs and Hobie cats are readily available at most resorts. For land-based thrills, there are off-road vehicle tours, skydiving and zip lining. Or for something a little more low-key, the shops in Nadi town have a great range of souvenirs, clothing, books and jewellery.

At nearby Denarau Island, there are excellent golf and tennis facilities plus a huge waterpark for the young and young at heart.

You can also set sail from Port Denarau for a day trip to the nearby Mamanuca and Yasawa islands.

Getting to Nadi

As the main tourism hub, there are multiple transport services operating from Nadi. Buses travel the roughly three-hour route between Nadi International Airport and Suva each day, and if you're headed to northern Viti Levu, these services also continue on to Lautoka, Ba and Rakiraki. However, services are less frequent on Sundays. Private taxis and rental cars can also be hired near the airport.
